My Kids USA is a children’s clothing brand committed to domestic manufacturing and non-toxic production. All garments are made in the USA using fabrics dyed with GOTS-certified, non-toxic dyes — positioning them in the growing market of parents prioritising transparency in what their children wear against their skin.

What We Tested

Over 8 weeks, two children (ages 3 and 7) wore 12 pieces including t-shirts, sweatshirts, leggings, and a hoodie in regular daily activity including outdoor play, art projects, and sport. Each piece was washed at least 15 times during the test period.

Durability

After 15+ wash cycles, all pieces retained their shape, colour, and construction integrity. Stitching held on the most actively worn pieces — the 3-year-old’s sweatshirt particularly — which typically shows stress on budget children’s clothing within weeks. Ribbing on cuffs retained elasticity throughout.

Comfort and Skin Response

Our tester with skin sensitivities (eczema-prone) showed no adverse reactions across the full test period — notable given that synthetic dyes are a common eczema trigger. The fabric hand feel is soft from first wear and improved marginally with washing.

Fit

Sizing runs accurately to the chart. The cut is slightly relaxed — appropriate for children’s active movement without being oversized. Both our testers found their standard size correct without exchange.

Verdict

My Kids USA justifies its premium through durability and material safety. For parents with skin-sensitive children, or those prioritising non-toxic production and domestic manufacturing, the extra cost is straightforwardly justified. The aesthetic is basic but the fundamentals are excellent.
